Volunteer for Wales Air Ambulance

Our volunteers are an integral part of the Wales Air Ambulance; they provide additional knowledge, skills and ongoing help that supports the Charity across our functions, whether attending fundraising events in the community, helping in our shops or acting as Trustees.

We would not be able to provide our lifesaving services without our volunteers and we trust that you will enjoy your time with us in whatever capacity that you can help with.

"Our volunteers are the backbone and the heart of our Charity, they help us to achieve our goals and they are fundamental in raising the funds which enable us to save lives across Wales.

We are proud to work with a diverse team of volunteers who bring a range of skills and experience and who support us to carry out our vital work.

We hope that you will find your time with us to be enjoyable and rewarding, and that you will feel part of our committed team."

If you're looking for the chance to meet new people or to work with your local community, becoming a fundraising volunteer could be perfect for you.

This is an ad hoc role which involves us contacting you as and when there are events or other opportunities in your local area. We will try and match you to activities which relate to your skills, interests and expertise.

There are many ways in which you can be involved whether independently or at Charity-organised events. You can choose the elements of the role which are best suited to your skills and availability. Here are some of the ways you could become a brand ambassador for us:

  • Attend events, such as local agricultural shows, carnivals or sporting activities to represent the Charity.
  • Assist with bucket collections to help raise vital funds.
  • Attend cheque presentations or collect donations on behalf of the Charity.
  • Collect and replace full collection buckets in your local area.
  • Wear one of our mascot costumes to help raise funds at local events.
  • Give short presentations to groups or schools talking about the work of the Charity.
What can we offer you?
  • You will receive an initial induction to the Wales Air Ambulance Charity.
  • A member of staff will become your named contact who will support you and respond to any queries you have.
  • You will be given any equipment necessary to carry out your role.
  • You will be given the opportunity to visit one of our airbases.
  • You will be reimbursed for approved expenses and receive a mileage allowance for travel to and from events.
  • A sense of pride knowing that you are helping to save somebody's life by donating your time.
