A successful charity tractor run in aid of two good causes has raised a fantastic £1,420.

The popular event, which took place on a sunny day, saw over 40 tractors take part in the Pencaenewydd Village Tractor Run.

The Wales Air Ambulance was chosen as one of the causes to benefit from the fundraising event, as well as the Pencaenewydd Chapel. The proceeds were split equally between the all-Wales Charity and the chapel.

One of the organisers, Ifor Davies said: “I’d like to thank everyone who supported us. A special
thanks to the many local businesses who donated items to our catering crew who prepared
food throughout the day.”

Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury. For the patient, this can mean hours saved when compared to standard care and is proven to greatly improve survival and early recovery.

It is delivered via a unique Third Sector and Public Sector Partnership. The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.

The event saw fun for all ages including a small tractor run for children that was held in the chapel hall.

Elain Orr, Wales Air Ambulance Regional Fundraising Manager, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the fundraiser a success, you’ve raised an amazing amount of money for two important causes.

“It is wonderful to hear that over 40 tractors took part, and that the sun shone during the fundraiser. Thank you to the organisers for holding the event and the farmers for taking part in another fundraiser for our lifesaving Charity.

“Our Charity truly appreciates the funds that you have donated to us. Every year we need to raise £11.2 million, and with your support we can continue to serve the people of Wales when they need us most, by air or by road. Thank you so much for supporting our cause.”

As a pan-Wales service, the dedicated air ambulance crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.
